Product Description

Sunroot brings the beauty of nature into your textiles with a plant-based, eco-friendly dye that colours fabrics in bright, durable tones. Inspired by sunlit hillsides and fresh herbs, it adds warmth and a natural character to any textile project, making it ideal for sustainable crafts, handmade clothing, and DIY projects that are safe for you and the planet.

Made from the rinds of Punica Granatum, also known as Pomegranate, Sunroot brings a soft, lasting yellow to cotton, linen, silk, and wool fabrics. Native to the Middle East and widely cultivated across Mediterranean regions, pomegranate rinds have been traditionally used for dyeing and natural crafts. While the plant carries a long history in traditional applications, the dye itself provides bright, durable, plant-based color.

Ideal for projects ranging from clothing to interior textiles and creative DIY pieces, Sunroot provides a natural, calm yellow that feels fresh, versatile, and timeless. Add it to your creations for a soft, sunlit finish that brings life to your fabrics.

WHY CHOOSE

WildHue Botanical Dyes

Hear from James, our CEO and sleep specialist, on the benefits and unique properties of WildHue's natural botanical powder dyes.

Wild Hue botanical fabric dyes are effective on natural and synthetic fibres, including cotton, linen, hemp, eucalyptus silk, wool, and bamboo. Each fibre type absorbs dye differently, giving every project a unique finish:

  • Protein fibres (such as silk and wool) produce deeper, more vibrant colours.
  • Cellulosic fibres (such as cotton and linen) yield lighter, subtler tones.

These natural variations mean no two pieces will ever look exactly the same - every creation is truly one-of-a-kind, while remaining non-toxic, safe, and sustainable.

Top Tips

  • Give fabrics space: Always allow room for textiles to move freely in the dye bath for even coverage.
  • Adjust colour depth: Add more dye or increase soaking time for deeper tones. Use less dye or reduce time for lighter shades.
  • Embrace uniqueness: Every fabric absorbs natural dye differently, ensuring every piece is one-of-a-kind.
